HannaMi Kim's latest works revolve around embracing her Korean heritage and her childhood memory of Korea through practice of  Dansaek (korean monochrome painting). 

Her childhood landscapes were minimal  but ever-evolving  through the seasons.  Inspired by fields, clouds, sun, moon, clouds and space of her memory, she creates solid grounds of by layering paints and carefully revealing patterns by removing the top layer. 

The subtlety of hues and meditative, unpredictable process imbue the paintings with a quiet yet grounded quality, reminiscent of mountains. This process represents her discovery of her Korean roots and sense of feeling at home, bringing a calming and comforting energy to her artwork.

SELF-TALK

Self-Talk is a body of works that has been developed over the years, mainly consisting  of small pieces on canvas or paper. These abstact creations reflect Hannami Kim's thoughts and emotions at the time, inspiring spontaneous  artwork. 

As a result, these works are not bound by any specific color or style. Being the genuine reflection of her emotions over the years, she now considers this body of work her most peersonal , which she only recently shared on her social media.
